Sponsored Cycling Challenge
David and Tim Bleazard are undertaking a sponsored cycling challenge May 9th - 21st 2013 in memory of their Mum, Margaret Bleazard, who died on 1st August 2012. The Cycling Challenge, which will start in Clitheroe, passes through the Yorkshire Dales on the way to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Loch Lomond. Settling in Oban on the West coast of Scotland at the half way point, the boys will then travel south via the Isle of Arran, Dumfries, Whitehaven and Grange over Sands before returning to Clitheroe, 1000 miles later, and over 34,000 feet of uphill (and some downhill too!)
Margaret Bleazard spent much of her life making people Smile - as a teacher at St James’ School, through her work for Clitheroe Furniture Store, Christian Aid and other good causes, as a Christian, and as a friend to many people. The aim of this sponsored cycling challenge is to make people Smile, either through the thought of two middle age men who like their bacon butties a bit too much cycling so far, or through the fact that every penny raised will be used to help people in Clitheroe who are facing difficulties in their lives, or living in poverty.
Raising funds through this challenge is Tim and David’s way of remembering their Mum, and especially that nothing was too much trouble for her when it came to helping people in need, especially in Clitheroe, her home town.
You can follow us on facebook at Bleazards Brothers Bonker Bikeathon. Any donations can be sent to Outside Edge.
Many thanks, Dave Bleazard |
