4 Star Leader (Sea) Training - UpdateFollowing 4 Club members completing their training late last year, and now being in the process of developing their skills and broadening their experience, the Club Committee would like to invite 'expressions of interest' from 4 more people to go through the training process. As before, the Club will support the training and assessment costs; all we ask in return is that you commit towards developing into a qualified leader and returning that benefit to the Club. The training course is 3 days long - a one day navigation course and two days of practical training. It is proposed that the days be run singly over three or more weekends, probably in mid-year, to soften the impact of the time commitment. Bear in mind that there is no pressure or timescale requiring you to commit to an early assessment - you go for that when you are ready. The cost to each person for the training will be £110 - the Club will pay the rest. You will also need to hold the BCU UKCC 3* Sea award before the first practical training day; if you do not already hold that, the Club can arrange the necessary training and assessment. Expressions of interest may be registered on the Forum (where Rowland has started a '4 Star Leader (Sea) Training - Update' thread), or directly to either Rowland or Dave Bleazard. |
